Course ELP 554 addresses Budget in Organizational Management II. I worked with a team in the Wake Principal Leadership Program cohort to establish a budget process for Benson Middle School which focused on student achievement. |

As a member of the Leadership Team at Enloe Magnet High School, I engaged in collaborative decision making including accounting and procedure discussions led by the Bookkeeper at Enloe Magnet High School. The team is responsible for ensuring our budget processes are focused on high-quality instruction and student achievement. |
B. Conflict Management and Resolution: The school executive effectively and efficiently manages the complexity of human interaction so that the focus of the school can be on improved student achievement.

The Wake Principal Leadership Program provided many opportunities to practice managing the complexities of human interactions through role plays. This simulated letter was written to the Superintendent to ensure I addressed problem and offered support to one of my teachers as a school administrator. |
As the Supervisor of the Arts Department at Enloe Magnet High School, I created this letter to address the concerns of the parents and students after an extra-curricular advisor resigned. I was responsible for interacting with the families and teachers in a way which students remained our priority and student achievement remained our focus. |

I created a simulated letter to the state superintendent regarding testing and the controversy depicted in the media through the differing opinions about testing. In this communication to the superintendent, I was very intentional to advocate for the focus on instruction and student achievement. |
C. Systematic Communication: The school executive designs and utilizes various forms of formal and informal communication so that the focus of the school can be on improved student achievement.
Principal Chavis of Enloe Magnet High School assigned the responsibility of transforming the design of Field Trips to me as the principal resident. I created a new template for the Field Trip guidelines as well as methods of communication regarding field trips to ensure all trips were approved in a timely manner. The systematic approval of the field trips allowed teachers to plan their assignments based on the attendance of their students and their experiences on field trips. |

As a member of the Administrative Team at Enloe Magnet High School, I presented our "Discipline Talk" to communicate the school expectations to the student body. I was responsible for presenting to the classes held on the 1500, 1300, and 2800 hallways. I also conducted small sessions for students who did not attend the initial presentations. |
The Administrative Team at Enloe Magnet High School during my Principal Residency had the responsibility of interpreting the data of their respective departments. To help with this step, I taught the team how to use the pivot table function of Excel Spreadsheets. When our in-person tutorials were disrupted with tasks of higher priority, I created a video so that we would have student achievement interpreted for our midyear reviews. |
